Position opening at Psi Chi, The International Honor Society in Psychology, located in Chattanooga, TN.
Psi Chi is seeking a team-oriented individual with a background in either foundation program management or non-profit management to join our team as Awards & Grants Officer.
Psi Chi is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization founded in 1929 and governed by a 10-member board.
Psi Chi’s mission of “Recognizing and promoting excellence in the science and application of psychology” is fulfilled through annual dispersal of nearly $400,000 in awards, grants, and scholarships, publication of the Eye on Psi Chi magazine and Psi Chi Journal of Psychological Research, programming at six regional and two national psychology conventions, and other activities to benefit members.
Psi Chi has over 700,000 members who joined at chapters located in over 1,160 universities, including 18 chapters in 14 countries outside the 50 states.

Our office is located near downtown Chattanooga, just across from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga campus.
This position, which reports directly to the Director of Membership & Development, provides coordination of all events within the awards process; from initial review of applications, to communicating with faculty reviewers, faculty and student applicants, and Psi Chi board members, to the actual awarding of over $400,000 of awards, grants, and scholarships.
Excellent communications skills are essential to the position.
The ideal candidate will possess a BA/BS degree and will be a self-motivated, independent team player with 2-4 years’ experience in non –profit, project-based work.
Knowledge of SmarterSelect software is a definite plus and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic website content management is needed.
