To sell Galactic products and services to businesses and industries. To create and maintain a professional image for Galactic with existing and potential clients. Develop leads with follow through action plans to maximize efforts in gaining/maintaining business. Position will start out as a way for the individual to learn the business, corporate culture, and products and services. Individual will work closely with all Sales Directors, Marketing, and Vice President, Sales & Marketing.
With the Vice President, Sales & Marketing establishes sales and expense budgets, and is responsible for achieving or exceeding the assigned sales quota, and maintaining the expenses as outlined.
Works closely with the sales team to learn the business. Assists in the preparation and gathering of information for sales presentations and proposals.
Utilizes systems to maintain all activity and history for all active clients and potential clients in a timely manner. Opportunities with prospects must have acceptable profit margins if we win the business.
Works in conjunction with creative area personnel in the creation and development of sales incentive presentations to insure that the Galactic image is maintained.
Must have a strong business acumen to understand their account's goals and objectives.
Coordinates between accounts, marketing services, administration, and travel department in supplementing and fulfilling programs. And acts as liaison with account personnel in servicing their programs and the collection of any outstanding balances.
Attains activity standards prescribed by the Vice President, Sales & Marketing in satisfying account needs to establish a favorable image and generate additional business for Galactic in the total incentive market.
Assures proposals are being completed on time and meets the requirements established for WIN/WIN sales effort.
With approval of the Vice President, Sales & Marketing, attends trade shows, sales seminars, industry events, etc. to maintain knowledge of industry to present product proposals and Galactic in a professional manner. Follow up must be documented on each such trip.
Develops, and achieves Quarterly objectives, forecasts, etc., and assists in the development of the annual sales department budget.
Must be able to develop relationships at the highest level within an account.
Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Must be able to interact with high-level executives and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing with confidence and clarity; have good presentation skills and appearance; be a self-starter and be able to set and achieve goals and objectives; be able to work within a team environment and be willing to support the team objectives; proficient in Microsoft Word, Basic Excel spread sheets, knowledge of Sales management software such as CRM helpful; have sufficient math skills to figure Gross Margin and Gross Mark up and understand the difference.
Ability to develop long-term plans and programs and to evaluate work accomplishments; ability to apply and adapt practices and techniques to the special requirements of senior management.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management staff, team members, and the general public; ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form; ability to accept constructive criticism from supervisor; ability to follow company policies.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3 year(s) salesexperience in solutions based selling ; OR
A four year degree in business management or marketing required.
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
